RBI (Reliable Building Investments) started in 1999 by original owner Paul Schmitz in Sparta, WI. Paul is a second generation builder and grew up spending many days with his father watching and working on his building projects as well as working on their home farm. Right out of high school, Paul attended Western Technical College in LaCrosse, WI. He graduated 2 years later with an Associate's Degree in Machine Tool and Die. Paul spent a few years working as a tool and die maker for tool and die manufacture companies in the LaCrosse/Onalaska areas. He then started working closer to Sparta, and eventually quit his job to start his own construction company: Reliable Building Investments.

 

As the construction business grew, Reliable Building Investments gained a new partner: James (Jim) Pieper. During the time when Jim became a partner, Reliable Building Investments became Incorporated and the name was then shortened to RBI Construction Inc. At this time Paul and his wife: Lynette Schmitz, also owned rental properties called: LPS Rentals LLC. Paul and Lynette had three properties under the LPS Rentals LLC. name, but with RBI Construction growing, they decided to start another entity called RBI Rentals LLC. and keep it all in one business.

 

Since then, RBI has continued to grow and flourish into four more business entities: RBI Fabrication and Machining Inc, RBI Ag. Division, RBI Care LLC. and RBI Caring Hearts LLC. Paul has since been working on expanding RBI Fabrication and Machining and the RBI Ag. Division Companies, while Jim has continued to run and manage the Construction company. Lynette Schmitz and  numerous staff have been working to operate and manage RBI Care LLC., an Adult Family Home (AFH) located in Sparta and RBI Caring Hearts LLC, a CBRF (Community Based Residential Facility) located in Bangor and also continue to run the office for all of the major entities.
